SaaS Systems Administrator
The SaaS Systems Administrator position is based in Austin, Texas, at the Paymetric SaaS Development office. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for daily tasks that include, but are not limited to system administration, system logs monitoring, errors and potential issues, and escalation to appropriate internal teams if necessary. Additional duties will include customer on-boarding activities including account creation, environment setup across the suite of Paymetric products, configuration and management, user and group setup, and password management. The Systems Administrator will be a primary contact and responsible for the Change Management ticketing system. As part of the SaaS Operations team, the Systems Administrator will be cross-trained to cover for other team member’s when required and to support and maintain entire SaaS infrastructure operations.
TECHNOLOGY EXPERTISE
- Cisco ASA 5XXX, Catalysts switches
- Networking and infrastructure monitoring tools (Dell OpenManage, Nagio, etc.)
- VMware vSphere, ESX 3.5, Workstation
- Windows 2003 R2 STD and ENT, AD, Domain, Servers, IIS6, Security
- SQL 2000 and 2005 (installation, configuration, management, monitoring, performance optimization), Postgres DB
- Linux (Ubuntu 8.04, 7.10 server), Redhat
- Load balancers is a plus
SKILLS
- Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects, sometimes under pressure.
- Ability to adapt within small, highly diversified team is a must. Must work independently with minimum supervision
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills are a must
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Deep understanding on network topologies, protocols and technologies. Expertise with configuring, managing and monitoring Cisco switches and firewall is a must
- Experience working in a complex, multi-tenant customer Software-as-a-Service environment is highly desirable.
- 5 + years experience working with virtualizations platforms (VMware preferred). Management, monitoring, configuration, security lockdown, VM provisioning, etc on ESX servers is highly desirable
- 7 + years experience with configuring and managing Windows 2003 AD Domain infrastructure. Ability to create and manage group policies. Systems administration experience of mixed Windows and Linux infrastructure is highly desirable
- 5 + years of Linux experience and Windows Server administration. System configuration and administration tasks will be required (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring and custom application support) on a daily basis
- Knowledge of scripting (VB scripts, shell and powershell, etc.), ability to automate, optimize repetitive and recurring tasks through scripting and other methods is highly desirable
- Must be able to be on-call. Flexible hours, possible after hours and weekend work will be required
- Willingness to go beyond the baseline to achieve timely, positive results
- Experience supporting Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning programs is a plus.
